At long last, I have updated this site. If you've been here before you will notice straight away that it looks different. I hope it's now simpler and easier to read. (For the technically minded, I have finally got rid of the frames and dragged the site into the 21st Century with an external stylesheet).

The content of the site isn't much different from what was here before, with one major exception: I have deleted the "Signed Firsts" page. I have very few copies of my own books left, and can't offer first editions for sale as a matter of course. If you are interested in buying a signed copy of one of my books then please email me with details of your requirements and I will reply with a price.

A quick roundup of the news from the last year or so. So far as my writing is concerned things have been a bit slow - I have been busy with other things including moving house and taking up a position as Royal Literary Fund Fellow at the University of Kent in Chatham Dockyard. I do have a book project under way at the moment - hopefully I can give more details of that here shortly.

My third novel, City of Spies, should appear in its Spanish language edition shortly. As usual they have changed the title - it will be called 
Nido de Espías ("Nest of Spies"). When I have them I'll put the cover image and the blurb up on the Spanish Language pages of the site.

My Russian publishers, AST, have bought the second book, Shadow of the Lords. Presumably that means they were happy with the first book, but I have yet to see a copy of it!

Finally, to those readers who have emailed me asking whether there will be a fifth book - the answer is that at the moment I don't know, but it's unlikely unless a publisher shows a serious interest in wanting to pick up the series. Much as I love them, writing the Yaotl novels takes up too much time and energy for me to able to do it for nothing. Still, I live in hope, and I may well write some more short stories.
